Nessa has written, acted, produced, anddirected for theatre, television and video.A journalist by day, Nessa began actingfirst with companies like SingaporeRepertory Theatre's Young Company andTeater Ekamatra. She graduated inPhilosophy from the National Universityof Singapore, studying playwriting andscreenwriting under Huzir Sulaiman andWee Li Lin respectively. She producedand presented a 24-episode biker travelseries on YouTube called InstaScram.Her first full-length play, Riders KnowWhen It’s Gonna Rain, was staged underCheckpoint Theatre and WILD Rice, andher second play, Rumah Dayak, was theinaugural production of Rupa co.lab, atheatre collective which she co-founded.She is a founding member of playwrightcollective Main Tulis Group and a regularcontributor to the Singapore WritersFestival in recent years.
