How can we create breathing room? The pandemic has brought dormitories to the fore, revealing congestion where capaciousness is sorely needed. The contest between capacity and comfort is one that needs to be re-examined, even if it means fracturing current realities to eke out breathing space for those who have been the unseen backbone of Singapore’s cityscape.
